Some Minnesota cities require Point-of-Sale Inspections otherwise known as Truth-in-Housing Insepctions (TISH) to be completed either before the home is put up for sale or prior to closing. These inspection programs are intended to protect the community’s overall housing stock and to avoid unsafe conditions and maintain the overall appearance of the community.
Requirements for each city vary and these types of inspections almost always differ from an ordinary homebuyers per-purchase insepction. Below is a lit of cities requiring a Home Inspection:
- Bloomington
- Golden Valley
- Hopkins
- Maplewood
- Minneapolis
- New Hope
- Richfield
- Robbinsdale
- St. Louis Park
- St. Paul
- South St. Paul
We at the Property Geeks always recommend a detailed homebuyers pre-inspection be performed whether the city requires it or not.
